Canisius College Athletics

Multimedia Reporter &

PxP Broadcaster

106 ESPN+/FloHockey/GGBN Broadcasts during Senior Year  (181 lifetime)

Following the end of my junior year, I approached our athletic department about wanting to make our coverage more comparable to larger NCAA Division 1 schools. After reading my content plan, a new position was created for me to be the "face/voice of Canisius Athletics," spearheading the rebrand of our content.

I created new original series like "Around Canisius Athletics," a weekly preview of what's ahead for every team on campus, and "The Griffin Report Podcast," which highlights players, coaches, and alumni. For the sports that I did not do play-by-play commentary for on ESPN, I was our sideline reporter and studio host.

As a freshman, I started doing camera our broadcasts and was promoted to PxP entering the 21-22 school year for Men's and Women's soccer, baseball, and softball while filling in for basketball and hockey.

Following graduation, I returned to my alma mater as the radio voice of the Men's Basketball program. In 2025, I will switch over as the main TV PxP talent for MBB & WBB.

WPRI Training Camp Reporter

 Providence, RI

To complete my Master's degree at Syracuse, I was selected to fulfill my capstone requirement as an NFL Training Camp Reporter. Newhouse has an agreement with five different Nexstar stations for students to cover the franchise in that market.

Going to New England was my top choice for WPRI's reputation in the industry and the opportunity to report on the Patriots under a first-year head coach and rookie quarterback.

Being able to have content used on-air daily was pivotal in my development as a sports reporter.

One of the reasons why I decided to go to grad school at Syracuse was the opportunity to get experience in their ACC Network broadcasts.

Due to my background at Canisius, I was fortunate to start calling games immediately for volleyball in the fall and continued to throughout the rest of the academic year.

Syracuse is also the only school in the country that has a student-run pregame, halftime, and postgame show. I started doing segments as a reporter before earning a spot as a studio host for basketball and lacrosse.

Syracuse Football & Men's Basketball Beat Reporter

For sports that I knew would have national broadcasts where I couldn't get hands-on experience at Syracuse, I wanted to find a way how I could still be involved.

Syracuse on FanNation, a local Sports Illustrated affiliate, was the perfect avenue for me to cover programs like football and men's basketball. My boss later switched over to 247 Sports during the spring.

This outlet was pivotal in improving my writing skills and ability to make reporter-type packages following practices and games.

September 2021 - July 2022

Pegula Sports & Entertainment
(Buffalo Bills, Sabres, & Bandits)

Media & Content Intern

I was fortunate to intern at PSE during my junior year at Canisius, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. In the fall, I became a contributing writer for Sabres.com, focusing on our younger prospects while also being the team reporter for the Buffalo Bandits during their NLL championship run.

Along with my 75+ published articles, I captured gameday footage for social media, assisted shoots for video series like "Embedded," cut/organized content in Adobe Premiere, voiced over commercials, and produced on-set shows like "Sabres Live." (Formerly "The Instigators").

April 2021 -  February 2022

Batavia Muckdogs

PxP Broadcaster

& Director of Media Relations

My first taste of the industry came with my hometown team during a very exciting time as the organization transitioned from nearly 80 seasons as a major league affiliate to first-year ownership in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL).

I was a one-man department, broadcasting 45+ games on YouTube Live, running our website and social media pages, along with writing press releases and postgame articles. Throughout the season, I also sold sponsorships, coordinated promotional nights, and did field maintenance.

EDUCATION

July 2023 - August 2024

Syracuse University

Masters Degree in Broadcast & Digital Journalism

After weighing my options on whether I would enter the workforce or attend grad school post-graduation at Canisius, Syracuse was the easy choice.

The Newhouse School is home to the top communications program in the country, and it was a true honor to be accepted. Syracuse was my dream school growing up, and I used being denied admission into the program as an undergrad as motivation throughout my career.

Their year-long "BDJ" Master's Program is rigorous, and my professors helped build on the solid foundation of skills that were created during my time at Canisius. Coming to Syracuse was the right decision for my development to maximize my potential in the industry.

Canisius College

Bachelors Degree in Journalism

Canisius has always been part of my life. My parents met and graduated in the Class of 1994 and named me in honor of their alma mater.

Throughout the college search, Canisius was the only place that ever felt like home! I knew that I would be able to get hands-on experience in my desired career through the Golden Griffin Broadcast Network and ESPN+.

Without a doubt, it is the best decision I've ever made because of my amazing professors, my time with our baseball program, the connections I've made in the industry, and the ability to be in a professional sports market.

Rochester Americans
Rinkside Reporter

After filling in for the Rochester Knighthawks at the end of the 2023 NLL Season, I was asked to be the Rochester Americans Rinkside Reporter for their TV broadcasts, gaining more experience in pro hockey.

It was a full-circle opportunity for me as I covered the Amerks during my time with the Buffalo Sabres on the team's website about the organization's prospects.

Each game, I conduct player interviews, coach reports, and other hits about the action on the ice.

During the 2024 season, my role expanded to more than just being featured on the broadcast.

I began writing postgame articles to help out the PR Staff, and started appearing on social media as a reporter for additional content during the playoffs. â€‹â€‹

I have been fortunate to have a great relationship with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference over the years. In 2023, they hired me to cover all 20 games at the MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey. During the five-day tournament, I created content on MAAC social media channels that included tournament previews, engaging interviews, and highlighting other fun events at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

That May, I did commentary for the second-straight Softball Championship hosted by Canisius and for the Baseball Championships in Pomona, New York.

In 2024 & 2025, I was the conference's press conference moderator and main sideline reporter on ESPN for MBB & WBB in Atlantic City during its marquee event.

Due to my internship with PSE, I was contacted about doing talent work for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League.

I was featured as a sideline reporter for the final three home games of the regular season in 2023. Spending time as a reporter for the Buffalo Bandits created a deep understanding of the league, which prepared me for my first appearances on a professional broadcast!

I will be entering my third season as the main sideline voice of the Hawks in 2025-26 and have been recognized as one of the best in the NLL.

Over the 8-week cohort, I learned alongside other aspiring sportscasters how to create a demo reel, networking tactics, and other tidbits to maximize my skill set.
