Packages

Below are some of my packages that relate more to local news as a

Sports MMJ. Here are some examples of storytelling abilities at the CAA and

during my capstone with the New England Patriots at WPRI-TV.

CAA Football "Going Deep" Feature

This feature highlighting URI Wide Receiver Marquis Buchanan is arguably the piece that I am most proud of in my career.

For this project, I was able to travel to Rhode Island during the regular season to sit down with Marquis and learn about his touching story. My favorite part of this experience was Marquis and his family taking so much in how the story turned out, which encapsulates everything the Buchanans have overcome.

"Tee Dog" Feature Piece

During the 2025 College Football season, I saw a black lab run onto the field to retrieve a kicking tee, and immediately thought, "This is such a cool story."

It led me to speak with "Jem the Dungeon Dog's" owner, Steve, and learn more on how this all came about. One of the challenges with telling this story was not being in New Hampshire to see Jem in action, which lead me to be creative in using pictures and archival footage.

New England Patriots Training Camp Reel

As part of my capstone experience to fulfill my master's degree at Syracuse, I was paired with WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island. For the entire summer, I was treated like a full-time Sports Anchor/MMJ.

I spent the majority of my time in New England covering Patriots Training Camp. All of the content in this reel was used for the station. It includes creative standups, anchoring in studio, a joint practice recap with the Eagles, and two feature stories.

Devon Levi Feature Story

For my final project in my Sports TV Anchoring/Reporting class, I decided to highlight Buffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi.

Levi embraced his role during his rookie season, splitting time between the Sabres and their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

His optimistic and hardworking mindset has allowed the Northeastern standout to thrive late in the season. I was lucky enough to sit down with Levi and Amerks Head Coach Seth Appert before their appearance in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Syracuse Athletics NIL Live Shots & Package

At the beginning of this day, I was supposed to be a videographer for our newscast. Instead, I became the lead story after going to a breaking news press conference for Syracuse Athletics.

I went live from the John A. Lally Center on campus to discuss the city's new "round-up" initiative with local restaurants, with all proceeds benefiting the Orange United NIL Fund.

I turned this story on a tight deadline for both shows on top of the other designated stories I gathered earlier in the day.

Syracuse Women's Basketball Reporter Package

I traveled to Storrs, Connecticut for the First and Second Rounds of the 2024 NCAA WBB Tournament. No. 6 Syracuse faced off against No. 11 Arizona in the Round of 64 in their first March Madness appearance since 2021.

5th-Year guard Dyaisha Fair willed her team to victory with a dominant fourth quarter after a right leg injury. Following SU's 74-69 victory, the Orange will play No.3 UConn in a star-studded matchup versus Paige Bueckers.

"Jim Boeheim Way" Package

During my final semester, I went out into the field and turned in packages on deadline. One of my favorites to cover was Jim Boeheim getting a street named after him.

Jim Boeheim's impact on the city of Syracuse is difficult to put into words, and now his legacy will forever be cemented while you make the walk up to the JMA Wireless Dome.

A skill I worked on incorporating was putting in many soundbites in my package. This has made my writing tighter and made me a better reporter.

Sports Venue Comparison Package

For my final package in my News Reporting class, I wanted to highlight how NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse has been underutilized for the majority of the year. The Triple-A ballpark of the Syracuse Mets provides one of the best gameday experiences in the minor leagues, but remains a ghost town when the team isn't on the diamond.

I compared the Buffalo Bills' use of Highmark Stadium during the NFL offseason as a way that the Mets could resemble. With the construction of a new stadium in Orchard Park set to open in 2026, there won't be a shortage of things to do in the Buffalo suburb.
